Do you waste too much energy trying to maintain a persona? The most humorous part is that no constant person exists or ever did.

A person is like a river, you can give it a name, but the truth is that it is never the same body of water, it always flows. Similarly, our emotions, wants, needs, and desires do the same, and that is OK. Please remember that you are a process.

Here are a few quick questions to see where you’re at.

Can you allow happiness to move through you authentically and fully? Or are you holding yourself back, even a little? If something is REALLY exciting for you, do you allow yourself to light up as a child? Let’s take it a bit back, because most people have trouble allowing themselves to even get excited about something, how are you doing with that one?

How about your hurt? Do you allow that to be seen? What about your anger? Is that beautiful emotion allowed to show it’s face? Do you fear judgment or can you openly speak your truth?

With this post, I invite you to practice the art of allowing and see how that feels. Beginning simply with yourself, take 15 minutes out of your evening to sit with yourself and ask what is truly here. Are you able to see your emotions for the energy that it is, without judgment, criticism, or rejection? If not, that is perfectly fine, simply be there with what is present, that is the whole point of this allowing practice.

If this exercise was easy enough, or if you feel that you have done it enough times, I invite you to take it a step further and try welcoming the emotions of others. Can you be there fully present with another person’s feelings and emotions, free of criticism or needing to fix, simply allowing? Most people will experience judgment, which is perfectly natural, but can that too be witnessed? This way you learn to be there for your own emotions and another’s simultaneously.

Have you tried doing this? How did it go? I would love to hear about your experience! Comment below or reach out at info@thepowerfulself.me and let me know.

All the best and much love 🙏💛
